Internship Experience with Adv. Tanuj Kataria: Improved English, written proficiency and legal research skills

I have done the internship under Advocate Tanuj Kataria who is currently practising in Lucknow High Court as an assistance internship.

DURATION:

The duration of internship was 4 weeks.

LOCATION:

It was in lucknow at the office of Adv. Tanuj Kataria.

HOW DID YOU APPLY:

For application, I have mailed my CV, cover letter and work sample (Research paper on Population Regulation Bill,2019) on the office mail i.e. [email protected].

MAIN TASKS, WORK PROFILE AND WORK ENVIORNMENT:

I have been asked to analyze landmark case Keshavanandan Bharti Case and to make a report on the analysis. Also, I have been explained the landmark case Maneka Gandhi v. Union of India case and asked to make a report on details of the respective case. I also went ahead for few civil case file which has been given to me to read and analyze and afterwards made report. I also made a report on Affidavit during the internship. I was also asked to assist many legal workshops and also did analysis of various legal problems

GOOD AND BAD THINGS:

The good thing is I got to know many amazing and new things and it also helped me in enhancing English spoken, written proficiency and also helped me in improving my skills in legal research. All together it was a good experience but as it was an assistance internship so I didn’t got opportunity to visit the court and experience the court proceedings.

STIPEND:

No stipend was provided during the internship period.

ACCOMODATION:

I was living at one of my relative’s home as it was in Lucknow and I belong from Gonda which is 3 hours away and daily up-down was not possible.

CONCLUSION:

It was a great learning experience and I got to learn about many new amazing things. It also cleared various aspects regarding fundamental rights and Indian constitution which later helped me a lot in moot court exercises.
