Name, college, year of study of the student intern
I am Siddhi Parmar, a 3rd year BALLB student at Manikchand Pahade law college, Aurangabad, Maharashtra.
Name of the Organization
Stambh organization: Stambh is a youth-inclined, youth-based & youth-run organization working for the child education and upliftment of unprivileged children in India. Apart from education, it work on various social issues that pose threat to society such as Women’s Empowerment, Gender Equality, Environment, Cleanliness, etc.
Duration of the Internship
Three months (10 October 2021 – 10 January 2022)
How did you apply
I got to know about the internship from the WhatsApp group of Lawbhoomi made for internship information. A google form link was also provided there. After filling the form, I got an email from the organisation where I was allotted the time and date of my selection process that was conducted through Google Meet.
Work profile/ main tasks
Precisely, the selection process was very much effective and progressive as the candidates had to participate in a debate on a trending social issue and everyone was given an equal opportunity to put their views and points in front of the selectors. The whole process was very productive in itself and everyone got to learn something new that day.
During the internship, interns had to write blogs, case study and research paper related to Social development goals and their significance.
The first task was to write blog on the selected SDG by the interns. The second task was to write a case study on our chosen topic according to our selected social development goals (SDGs).
The final writing task was to write a research paper on the topic allotted to us from SDGs and it was asked to write a research which always aims to apply existing literature, research gap and drafting skills with human rights touch.
Later on, the interns were asked to do some practical field work with charity purposes. The interns were asked to reach out to orphanages and had to engage with children there and also the organisation granted some financial help to the orphanage authorities through the interns. On Diwali also all the interns/volunteers were asked to distribute some sweets and clothes to the needy people.
The organisation also organised a few online learning programs for the interns where we got to learn about “How to write a research paper and blogs?”, “Types of Social problems prevalent in society and their cure” etc.
Work Environment
Work environment was awesome as all the heads of the organisation were very frank to ask them about anything related to internship or about difficulty in the tasks, they helped interns in citations, research methods and in many such things. All were helping persons, and as there was social work also, all interns were get chance to do some social duties also through the internship.
Good Things
Good things were that the internship was more focused on social development as the organisation is work as NGO, so the interns were happy to do task for social welfare like writing blogs and research paper on SDGs etc. Also many knowledgeable webinars or work shops were organised by the organisation.
Bad Things
There was no bad thing as all the work was done with the help of organisation heads, so no difficulty was there.
Stipend (if any)
No stipend was given as it is an NGO. All the interns were happy by giving their some contribution to social welfare.
