Name of The Organisation
BSES, Rajdhani Power Limited
Duration of Internship
Delhi High Court, New Delhi, New Delhi
How Did You Apply?
I came to know that there was an internship programme, hence, I wrote an application to the head of the legal department of the organisation requesting him to allow me to be a part of this internship for which I sent my resume and the cover letter.
In this internship, I had to visit Delhi High Court and attended all the proceedings where we had matters and hearings. I also visited Lok Adalat which is one of the alternative disputes redressal mechanisms, where disputes/cases pending in the court of law are settled. After studying the case files, I was assigned to write a brief synopsis on every case which I had gone through.
The work environment was extremely friendly, my colleagues were humble and flexible with work. My senior was very supportive, acknowledged my work and would help when needed.
Things I Learned
It was a great experience for me to dive in and observe everything while getting briefed about things I didn’t know such as laws consisting of Electricity Act during my tenure. I got the privilege to attend various proceedings conducted. I also learnt that practical knowledge is more useful and preferred than theoretical knowledge.
No stipend was provided.
The good thing about this internship was that my senior legal manager was approachable and she taught me various terms and practical things related to courtroom and laws.
No bad things.
It was a great learning experience and it provided me opportunities in the practical world.
