About the Fellowship

The institution is seeking to hire two Law Fellows to join its team in Chennai. The Fellowship is designed for young lawyers interested in pursuing a career in legal academia.

Fellows will gain exposure to university operations and legal education in India, both inside and outside the classroom. The role also provides access to faculty members and institutional resources to support personal research interests.

One of the Fellow positions will specifically focus on the School of Law’s legal aid clinic initiatives, including planning and conducting legal literacy workshops, grant writing, stakeholder liaison, and development of resource materials.

Eligibility

Applicants must hold a B.A. LL.B. degree or equivalent qualification with a strong academic record.

No prior work experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

• Prior experience in legal aid, legal awareness, or street law clinic work will be highly valued for the Fellow position associated with the legal aid clinic.
• Familiarity with data collection, documentation, report writing, and digital tools for research, communication, and content creation is preferred.
• Fluency in English is mandatory.
• Proficiency in Tamil and/or Hindi will be considered an advantage for the Fellow position related to the legal aid clinic.

Responsibilities

The selected Fellows will be involved across various aspects of the School of Law and will provide academic support relating to the intellectual and student life of the university.

Duration

The Fellowship is for a period of up to 2 years.

Mode

This is a full-time, on-site position.
