About the Organisation
Bennett University, a State Private University, was established by the “Times Group,” India’s largest media conglomerate, through Act No. 24 of 2016 passed by the Government of Uttar Pradesh. The University offers unique interdisciplinary and contemporary courses through its Schools of Computer Science Engineering and Technology, Engineering and Applied Sciences, Management, Law, and Media & Liberal Arts. In addition, Bennett University hosts Centres for Innovation & Entrepreneurship and External Relations & Executive Education, contributing to its stature as a forward-thinking institution.
About Centre for Labour Studies and Research
The Centre is interdisciplinary, which would address various issues concerning the regulation and governance of employment relations. The Centre primarily engages in the problems concerning the regulation and enforcement of existing labour laws and its implications, new labour codes, trade unions, collective bargaining, labour law governance, understanding the industrial relations and structures with respect to the formal and informal sectors of the work organizations, forced labour, workers exploitation and child labour. In connection with this, the CLSR aims to encourage research, hold seminars and conferences, guest lectures, workshop and industrial visits for the students on any contemporary issues connected with the labour and industrial laws.
About the Call for Papers for International Conference on Contemporary Developments in Labour and Industrial Laws
The Centre for Labour Studies and Research (CLSR), Bennett University, invites submissions for its International Conference on Contemporary Developments in Labour and Industrial Laws. The conference aims to address the challenges posed by globalization, digital transformation, and socio-economic changes to the existing labour law framework. Papers presented at the conference will undergo a rigorous review process, and selected submissions will be published in a reputed journal with an ISBN.
Eligibility
Academicians, researchers, professionals, practitioners, students, and representatives from governmental and non-governmental organizations are welcome to submit their research. Co-authorship is allowed (maximum two authors).
Themes
The conference will explore the following themes and sub-themes:
Theme 1: Historical Evolution and Emerging Frameworks in Labour Laws
- Origins of labour legislation.
- Historical evolution of Indian labour laws.
- Comparative analysis of labour law transformations globally.
Theme 2: Labour Rights in the Age of the Gig Economy and Digital Transformation
- Legal challenges in the gig economy.
- The impact of AI and automation on job markets.
- Policies for workforce transition in a digital economy.
Theme 3: Labour Rights, Sustainability, and the Green Economy
Labour protections and green job initiatives.
Urbanization and its impact on employment patterns.
Equitable participation in sustainable industries.
Theme 4: Labour Rights, Social Justice, and Inclusion
- Addressing gender inequality in the workplace.
- Legal protections for migrant and informal sector workers.
- Eradication of exploitative labour practices.
Theme 5: Contemporary Labour Law Reforms and Enforcement Mechanisms
- Global comparison of India’s new labour codes.
- Innovations in enforcement and judicial oversight.
- Recommendations for future-ready labour markets.
Formatting Guidelines
- Font Style and Size: Times New Roman, 12 for the main text, 14 for headings.
- Line Spacing: 1.5
- Citation Style: Bluebook (21st edition).
- Margins: 1 inch on all sides.
Submission Guidelines
- Abstract Submission
- Word Count: 1000–1200 words.
- Include 5 relevant keywords and a cover page with the following:
- Title of the Paper
- Name of the Author(s)
- E-mail Address
- Postal Address and Contact Number
- Abstracts should be emailed to clsr[at]bennett.edu.in.
Full Paper Submission
- Word Count: 5000–8000 words.
- Submissions must demonstrate originality, coherence, and significant contributions to the field.
- Full papers must be in Microsoft Word format and emailed to [email protected].
- Selected papers will be published by reputed publishers with an ISBN.

- Notification of Abstract Selection: 10th January 2025
- Full Paper Submission Deadline: 15th February 2025
- Conference Dates: 27th–28th February 2025
