About Centre for Disability Law and Policy

The APD-RCL Centre for Disability Law and Policy at Ramaiah College of Law, inspired by the UGC’s Higher Education for Persons with Special Needs (HEPSN) scheme, is dedicated to fostering inclusion and promoting disability rights. Guided by the principles of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (RPwD) Act 2016, the Centre aims to remove barriers to equal opportunity and create a supportive environment that upholds individual dignity and autonomy for all.

About the Opportunity

The Centre for Disability Law and Policy, Ramaiah College of Law is proud to present to you ‘Asterias 2024’, an Inter-College event celebrating Disability Rights and Inclusion on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, happening on 20th and 21st December 2024! 

  • MAYHEM ARENA (CLUE-CHASE)

A clue-chase-based adventure crafted to challenge the mind and body. Teams will tackle tricky riddles to uncover hidden locations across the Ramaiah Gnanagangothri campus, each with a unique task waiting to test their skills. This exciting race against time limits your problem-solving abilities and teamwork. Get ready to dive in, crack the clues, and conquer the challenge.

  • BATTLE OF WITS (OPEN DEBATE)     

The ‘Battle of Wits’ is a competition where the participants put their communication and observation skills to support and convey their motion to the adjudicators as well as to their opponents. This is an opportunity for all to present powerful arguments, challenge viewpoints, and engage in thought-provoking discussions to increase inclusivity and accessibility for people with disability.

  • InnovABLE (BUSINESS PROPOSAL)

The ‘InnovABLE’ is an event challenging participants to propose innovative product and service ideas promoting the inclusion of persons with disabilities. Teams of three will present concepts emphasizing accessibility, equity, and participation. Judged on the basis of creativity, inclusivity, and presentation, it’s a platform to envision a more inclusive future while building entrepreneurial and public-speaking skills.

  • LIGHTS, CAMERA, INCLUSION! (SHORT FILM)

The ‘Lights, Camera, Inclusion!’ is an event designed for the participants to present a story or a documentary that depicts the inclusivity of persons with disability sending out a message and awareness to the audience through visual media. This is an opportunity for filmmakers to engage their storytelling and creative ideas with respect to ithe nclusion and accessibility of persons with disability in society. Camera Rolling, Action!
