About the Job

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is hiring an Associate Corporate Counsel to serve as the primary legal advisor to its India Public Sector business. The role involves providing strategic legal support on government procurement, regulatory and policy matters, public sector contracts, and strategic partnerships while working closely with business teams in a fast-paced environment.

Eligibility

Candidates should possess:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Law or at least 5 years of post-bar admission legal experience.
• A minimum of 3 years of legal experience. Candidates with greater experience are also encouraged to apply.
• Experience in transactional legal work, including drafting and negotiating commercial contracts or equivalent.
• Strong verbal and written Business English communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in web services, cloud computing, software licensing, telecommunications, or a related sector.
• Experience in private practice or as in-house counsel at a technology company.
• Familiarity with IT and technology licensing, outsourcing, and services agreements.
• Understanding of intellectual property, competition, and privacy laws.
• Familiarity with government contracting, public procurement frameworks, tendering processes, and applicable public sector procurement regulations.

Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

• Serving as the primary legal advisor to the India Public Sector business.
• Advising on government procurement opportunities through end-to-end review of Requests for Proposals (RFPs), public sector contracts, and funding requests.
• Providing legal advice on regulatory and policy matters affecting cloud adoption by public sector customers.
• Supporting strategic public sector transactions and partnerships.
• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements.
• Advising internal stakeholders on commercial and regulatory matters.
• Identifying and managing legal risks while providing practical, business-focused legal advice.
