About The Job

Talekar and Associates is hiring for the following positions:

• Litigation Associates – 2 positions
• Associate – Briefing Counsel – 1 position
• Long-term Interns – 3 positions

Eligibility

For Associates:

• Law graduate with an LL.B. or B.A. LL.B. degree.
• Candidates holding an LL.M. will be given preference.
• Freshers who meet the criteria and have excellent internship experience may also apply.

For Interns:

• Law students preferably in the 3rd, 4th or 5th year of a 5-year course.
• Students in the final year of a 3-year law course may also apply.

Responsibilities

For Associates:

Find the latest legal internship opportunities, updated daily.

• Drafting pleadings, petitions and applications.
• Conducting legal research and statutory interpretation.

For the Briefing Counsel role:

• Preparing concise case notes.
• Identifying core legal issues.
• Collating multi-volume case records.
• Supporting legal issues with extensive research.
• Preparing briefing notes.

For Interns:

• Conducting legal research.
• Practical problem-solving.
• Demonstrating resourcefulness, proactive initiative and execution.

Key Skills

• Strong drafting acumen.
• High-level legal research and statutory interpretation.
• Excellent research and practical problem-solving skills.
• Resourcefulness, proactive initiative and execution.

Language Proficiency

• Excellent command of written and spoken English.
• Functional proficiency in Marathi, including the ability to read and understand regional court records, lower court orders and vernacular documents.

Stipend/Salary

Remuneration will be discussed in person during the interview and will be commensurate with skills and experience.
