Poovayya & Co. is hiring an experienced dispute resolution lawyer to join its team as an Associate/Senior Associate – Information Technology Lawyer. The role involves handling litigation and advisory work for intermediaries, including strategic legal advice and representation before courts.

Position

Associate / Senior Associate – Information Technology Lawyer

Eligibility

• 4–6 years of post-qualification experience.
• Litigation experience, including drafting pleadings and effective advocacy before courts.
• Strong understanding of intermediary liability, the Information Technology Act, emerging technology laws, content moderation, and criminal law.
• Experience advising technology platforms and social media intermediaries on regulatory matters.
• Excellent drafting, research, and client management skills.
• Ability to explain complex legal issues in practical business terms.
• Ability to work comfortably with foreign counsel.
• Strong understanding of India’s technology ecosystem, the Information Technology Act, and related Rules.
• Exceptional command of the English language.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple deliverables and work under tight deadlines.
• Ability to articulate complex legal issues to foreign lawyers.

Responsibilities

• Handle litigation and advisory matters for intermediaries.
• Provide strategic legal advice and represent clients before courts.
• Draft pleadings, legal opinions, and other litigation-related documents.
• Advise clients on intermediary liability, technology laws, content moderation, and criminal law.
• Support regulatory compliance and advisory work for technology platforms and social media intermediaries.
• Work closely with domestic and international clients and foreign counsel.
