About the Job

AK & Partners is hiring Associates and Principal Associates for its General Corporate practice.

The role involves transactional advisory work, including independently managing corporate and regulatory matters, advising clients directly, supervising junior associates and contributing to the knowledge and thought leadership of the practice.

Eligibility

Associate

• Minimum 2 years of post-qualification experience in corporate advisory, M&A, or financial regulatory compliance.
• Experience at a law firm or in-house at a regulated entity with genuine transactional ownership.
• Strong client advisory and matter management skills.
• Leadership and mentoring experience is preferred.

Principal Associate

• Minimum 8 years of post-qualification experience in corporate advisory, M&A, financial regulatory, banking and finance, or related transactional practice.
• Proven ability to independently manage complex transactions and regulatory matters.
• Strong client relationship and business development skills.
• Demonstrated leadership and experience mentoring and managing legal teams.
• Experience advising on RBI, FEMA, NBFC, SEBI, IRDAI, PMLA, fintech, or financial services matters is strongly preferred.

Litigation and dispute resolution experience does not qualify for these roles.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage corporate and regulatory matters end-to-end.
• Advise clients directly on RBI, FEMA, payment systems, NBFC, IRDAI, SEBI and PMLA matters.
• Supervise junior associates.
• Manage client relationships.
• Contribute to the knowledge and thought leadership of the practice.
