About the Job

DP World is seeking an Assistant Manager – Legal (Global Service Centre) to join DPWFS’ Legal team.

The role will report to the Legal Director of DPWFS and will support in managing all legal aspects of the trade finance business, including drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial and financial services contracts. The scope of responsibilities will cover DPWFS activities as well as wider global trade finance initiatives of DP World.

Eligibility

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law from a reputable university (Bar admission is a plus)
  • 2–5 years of combined legal counsel experience at international law firms, banks, financial institutions, MNCs, FinTechs, and/or NBFCs
  • Knowledge of banking and finance laws, trade and commodity finance, and trade services
  • Experience in cross-border matters and multi-jurisdictional legal operations
  • Experience with financial services legal documentation
  • In-depth knowledge of financial services laws & regulations (including AML/CTF) within the DIFC
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to manage high-volume work and prioritize effectively
  • Self-driven, detail-oriented, and adaptable in a fast-growing business environment

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal support and advice on trade finance, logistics finance, inventory finance, and trade service matters
  • Review, draft, and negotiate trade finance documentation, including bilateral and syndicated transactions, receivables & payables financing, import/export financing, draft discounting, risk participation (funded & unfunded), commodities finance, and trade service transactions
  • Support global trade finance initiatives across regions, including setting up companies and understanding regulatory landscapes
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and risk mitigation frameworks
  • Liaise with internal departments (operations, risk, credit, compliance, treasury, audit) and external stakeholders (law firms, financial institutions, consultants)
  • Conduct legal research and monitor developments in legislation, regulations, and industry standards
  • Draft, proofread, and amend contracts, policies, leases, and licenses
  • Maintain legal databases, tracking systems, and proper documentation
  • Provide legal and regulatory support to internal business teams
  • Perform administrative and record-keeping responsibilities within the Legal department
