About the Organisers

Alliance School of Law has set up an exclusive Centre for Corporate and Commercial Law, named as the Alliance Centre for Corporate and Commercial Law (ACCL), which offers a unique and powerful approach to prepare students to become transactional lawyers representing businesses and investors. After graduating, a student who has participated in the Corporate Concentration should have a theoretical and substantive foundation for corporate law fundamentals, including business associations, mergers and acquisitions and securities regulation.

ACCL promotes advanced research and outreach activities among faculty and students in Corporate and Commercial law. Alliance University is a private university established in Karnataka under Act No. 34 of 2010, recognized by UGC, BCI, and AICTE. Alliance School of Law is approved by the Bar Council of India and offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs with strong focus on practical training, research, and policy learning.

Name: Alliance Model GST Council Competition (AMGSTC) 2025

Type: National-level simulation of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Council.

Objective: To mirror the real functioning of the GST Council, allowing students to deliberate on fiscal federalism, taxation reforms, and inter-governmental negotiations.

Format:

Day 1 & 2: Thematic council deliberations (debates, open dialogues, structured sessions).

Day 3: Semi-finals & simulated press round.

Maximum Teams: 31 (each representing a state/UT, 2 members per team – State Finance Minister & Secretary).

Eligibility

Open to all bona fide law students enrolled in:

5-year integrated LL.B. program, or 3-year LL.B. program, or LL.M. program (recognized by the Bar Council of India).

Mode: Offline (in-person).

Venue: Alliance University Central Campus, Chandapura-Anekal Main Road, Bengaluru – 562106, Karnataka, India.
