About The Book
The rapid advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI) are profoundly reshaping the landscape of law, legal institutions, and processes, creating both opportunities and challenges. These developments demand an informed academic response that critically examines the implications of AI in governance, justice delivery, and regulatory frameworks.
In this context, the School of Law, Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology, invites original chapter contributions for a peer-reviewed edited volume titled “Artificial Intelligence and Law: Governance, Ethics and Regulation.” This volume aims to foster scholarly debate on the legal, ethical, and policy dimensions of AI, offering diverse perspectives on how technology intersects with rights, responsibilities, and the rule of law.
Contributors are encouraged to engage with themes such as AI and governance, algorithmic accountability, data protection and privacy, ethical dilemmas in automation, implications for legal practice and education, and regulatory approaches at national and international levels. By bringing together insights from academics, practitioners, and policymakers, the volume seeks to provide a comprehensive understanding of AI’s role in shaping the future of law and society.

Submission Guidelines
I. Abstract Submission
- Title Page Must Include: Title of the Chapter Author(s) Full Name(s) Designation and Institutional Affiliation Email ID and Contact Number
- Word Limit: 250–300 words
- Content: Abstract must clearly outline the background, objectives, core arguments, and scope of the proposed chapter.
- Acceptance Requirement: Only upon acceptance of the abstract, authors will be invited to submit the full chapter.
- Abstract Notification: Authors will be notified of acceptance status on the date specified in the timeline section of this brochure.
II. Chapter Submission
- Word Limit: 4000–8000 words (excluding footnotes/references)
- Title Page Must Include: Title of the Chapter Author(s) Full Name(s) Designation and Institutional Affiliation Email ID and Contact Number
- Co-authorship: Permitted up to a maximum of two authors per chapter
- File Format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) only
III. Citation & Referencing Style
- Mandatory Citation Style: Bluebook 21st Edition
- All citations must be in the form of footnotes only. Endnotes or inline citations will not be accepted.
- Consistency in citation style is expected throughout the chapter.
IV. Plagiarism & AI Usage Policy
- Submissions must be original and unpublished.
- Plagiarism must not exceed 10%, as per the guidelines of the University Grants Commission (UGC), India.
- All manuscripts will undergo plagiarism checks using standard software.
- Use of Generative AI tools to write the chapter is strictly prohibited.
- The author(s) shall be solely responsible for any plagiarism or ethical violations found during or after publication.
Submission Deadline
The deadline for abstract submission is 30th August 2025. The deadline for final chapter submission will be communicated at a later date to selected authors.
