Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Law University (DBRANLU), Sonepat, a premier academic institution committed to advancing constitutional values and transformative legal scholarship, is pleased to announce its National Conference on ‘One Nation, One Election: Constitutional, Federal, and Democratic Dimensions’ scheduled for 6th–7th September 2025.

About the Conference

India, the world’s largest democracy, is facing a critical debate around the Constitution (129th Amendment) Bill, 2024, which proposes synchronised elections to the Lok Sabha and State Legislative Assemblies. While this vision of ‘One Nation, One Election’ promises administrative efficiency and economic prudence, it also raises pertinent questions about constitutional propriety, the federal balance of power, and the participatory depth of Indian democracy.
