About The Opportunity

IMS Unison University, Dehradun, is excited to host the 6th IUU Mediation Competition 2026 on 19th-20th March 2026. This prestigious event invites law universities and institutes across India to participate in an enriching experience that simulates real-life mediation, a crucial alternative to traditional litigation.

Participants will step into the role of mediators, resolving disputes in scenarios based on law. The competition consists of four rounds: Preliminary, Quarter-Final, Semi-Final, and Finals. It provides an excellent platform for students to apply their legal knowledge, develop negotiation and communication skills, and experience the dynamic nature of dispute resolution.

Through expert-led training sessions, participants will gain valuable insights into mediation techniques, enhancing their ability to navigate complex legal challenges. This competition is a unique opportunity to break away from theoretical learning and engage in a hands-on approach to solving disputes with a multi-dimensional perspective.

Theme

The subjects encompassed for this edition of mediation competition or the theme this year would be as follows:

1. Family Law
2. Environmental Laws
3. Law of Torts
4. Law of Contract and Commercial Laws

Eligibility

The eligibility criteria would be students enrolled in either 3 years or 5 years(integrated BA.LLB) of law degree. Furthermore, the team composition shall be as follows:

1. Each team shall consist of a maximum of two members (One acting as the Mediator and the other as the Client).
2. All participants are mandatorily required to carry their University/College ID Cards during the competition.

Disclosure of Institutional affiliation during the rounds is strictly prohibited.
