About the Organiser

The Weekend Lecture Series (WLS) is a student committee at WBNUJS dedicated to sustaining a vibrant culture of academic discourse. WLS regularly hosts eminent jurists, scholars, and practitioners. Previous invitees include Ms. Zia Mody, Prof. N. R. Madhava Menon, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Pinaki Chandra Ghose, Dr. Aditya Sondhi, Ambassador Rakesh Sood, and Ambassador Arundhati Ghose.

About the Workshop

Technology is rapidly reshaping investigation, adjudication, and corrections in India. While digital tools can improve efficiency and transparency, they raise critical questions around privacy (IT Act, 2000), algorithmic bias, and compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. This certificate workshop assembles perspectives from the Bench, academia, and correctional administration to examine these opportunities and risks. (Event itinerary is provided in the attached brochure.)
