About the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies

The University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) was established in the year 2003 with an ambitious vision and unique approach to establish professional development among its students. The University offers its students a world-class academic infrastructure for multifaceted all-round growth and development. The Centre for IPR, UPES is also a similar initiative for promoting knowledge and awareness about IPRs in general, along with the newer trends and concepts that keep emerging in the sector from time to time.

About the CIPR

The Centre for Intellectual Property Rights, UPES Dehradun has been incorporated with the objective of enhancing the aspects on Intellectual Property Laws and promoting holistic development and extensive research about relatively newer concepts in the field of IPRs.

The Event- The Centre for Intellectual Property Rights (CIPR), UPES is organizing a two day IP Fiesta on the occasion of World Intellectual Property Day, on 26th and 27th April 2022. The same runs in consonance with the WIPO World IP day theme for the year 2022 which is ‘IP and Youth Innovating for a Better Future’. As a part of the celebration, we will be organizing two events, mainly ‘The Pitch Bowl’ and ‘The National Intellectual Property Olympiad’.

About the Pitch Bowl

This event is our initiative to encourage the start-up culture in the country by giving students an opportunity to present their new and creative ideas (or pitch), and stand a chance to be recognized for the same. This competition will not only help students get a platform to present their ideas related to any product or service which is novel and has the potential to aid the society, but will also encourage them to get more creative and think of solutions to persisting issues in the world.

The National Intellectual Property Olympiad

This event has been curated in order to provide all IP enthusiasts an opportunity to use their IP related knowledge and stand a chance to win! The Olympiad will cover various national and international developments in the field of Intellectual Property, and if you are someone who enjoys exploring the IP regime, this event is for you!

Prizes

First position- 5k
Second Position- 3k
Third Position- 2k

Registration

The registration will be done via a registration form, and is free for the National Olympiad as well as the preliminary round of the Pitch Bowl, which requires the written submission of the idea via the google form itself. Subject to selection for the second round of the Pitch Bowl, participants will have to pay Rs 500 (for college students) and Rs 300 (for school students).
All the participants will receive a registration confirmation on their respective mail IDs. Mode of the event- The National Olympiad and the Preliminary round of the Pitch Bowl will be completely online. The second round of the Pitch Bowl will be conducted in offline mode. The last date to register is 15th April, 2022.
