The National Law University Meghalaya (NLU Meg) is the first National Law University established in Meghalaya. Located in Shillong, often referred to as the ‘Scotland of the East’, this premier law school aims to pioneer legal educational reforms and anchor the transformation of legal education.

About the Symposium

The National Law University Meghalaya, Shillong, in collaboration with IKP Prime, IKP Knowledge Park, Hyderabad, and IPR Cell, Department of Law, North Eastern Hill University, Shillong, is hosting the Tech Transfer & IPR Symposium 2024. The symposium aims to bridge the gap between academia, industry, and government, particularly in the technologically rich yet underutilized regions of North East India and Meghalaya.

Theme

The theme of the symposium is “Navigating Intellectual Property Rights in the Innovation Landscape”. This theme underscores the crucial role of IP management in shaping and advancing the innovation ecosystem.

Sub-themes for paper presentations include:

• Fundamentals and Dynamics of Intellectual Property Rights in the Evolving Economic Landscape
• Challenges in Protecting and Commercializing Intellectual Property
• Innovators’ Rights and Incentives
• Enforcing Intellectual Property Rights

Mode and Venue

Hybrid

The symposium will be held on November 15 – 16, 2024. The venue for the event is National Law University Meghalaya, Shillong, Meghalaya.

Online paper presentation is allowed.

Registration Fees

• Graduate Students and Research Scholars: Rs. 1000/-
• IP practitioners: Rs. 2000/-
• Academicians and Researchers: Rs. 3000/-
• Accommodation can be availed on additional payment of Rs. 4000/-

• Abstract Length: 300 to 500 words
• Paper Length: 3000 to 3500 words (inclusive of footnotes)
• Citation Style: Blue Book 21st edition
• Co-authoring is permitted up to one co-author, but both need to register separately

Selected papers will be featured in the Working Papers series of the National Law University of Meghalaya, if accepted by the editor of the Working Paper Series
