The three-day event of 12th Prof VS Mani Memorial International Law Moot Court Competition at the Seedling School of Law and Governance, Jaipur National University, concluded today with Symbiosis Law School, Noida  being declared the winner cash prize of Rs 30,000 and Nirma University, Ahmedabad, the runner up with a cash prize of Rs 20,000. Best Memorial went to Lovely Professional University, Ludhiana. Best Researcher to Mr. Yajur Rai Chhabra of National Forensic Science University, Gandhinagar, and Best Speaker – Radhika Agarwal of Campus Law Centre, Delhi University, Delhi

Hon’ble Mr Justice N.K. Jain, Former Chairperson, Rajasthan State Human Rights Commission and Former Chief Justice of Madras High Court and Karnataka High Court, Justice Dinesh Chandra Somani, Former Judge of Rajasthan High Court and Hon’ble Barrister Prof. Prashanta Bhushan Barua, Vice President (Asia) of the Commonwealth Legal Education Association and Global Judge for Oxford University’s Price Media Law Mooting Championship adjudged the final round. Whereas Justice Anand Sharma, Sitting Judge of Rajasthan High Court was the Guest at the Valedictory Session.

Hon’ble Justice Anand Sharma addressed the students with full of zeal and zest and congratulated them. He emphasized that this activity gives the students an opportunity to sharpen their skills for extensive research and precise argumentation by exposing them to the simulated environment of a courtroom.” “While a healthy sense of competition does indeed motivate the law students to improve their skills, in the long run they must remember that there are shades of grey when they eventually take up legal practice,” he added. Hon’ble Justice Somani focused on the importance of moot court exercise and its relevance in today’s contemporary legal field. He advised to read and learn as learning cannot be stopped. Addressing the gathering, Hon’ble Justice NK Jain spoke passionately about the significance of moot courts in nurturing the advocacy skills of law students. He emphasized that moot courts not only enhance legal knowledge but also build confidence, discipline, and the ability to think on one’s feet.

Hon’ble Chancellor Dr. Sandeep Bakshi appreciated the efforts of Law School faculties and students in holding this prestigious event. Dr. Bakshi proudly stated, “The Indian legal acumen is unparallel and the purpose of such Moot Courts is to nurture them further.” He urged all the participants of the Moot Court Competition to aim at becoming distinguished legal professionals of the world.

The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Pro Chancellor Prof. H.N. Verma, Executive Director Preeti Bakshi and Vice Chancellor Prof. R.L. Raina, who marked their presence at the valedictory session, underscoring the institution’s commitment to fostering academic excellence and meaningful legal discourse.

Prof (Dr) Satish C Shastri, Director of Seedling School of Law and Governance, stressed upon the need for holding such moot court competitions at regular intervals so that the students become familiar with the proceedings of the court. He expressed his gratitude to the faculties, student committees and participants about the volumes of the successful event.

The competition has attracted participation about 50 teams representing National Law Universities, State Universities, and premier law institutions from across the country.
