About the Opportunity

SCLC Youth Summit 2026 is a two-day national-level academic event scheduled for 7th and 8th March 2026 at Shankarrao Chavan Law College, Pune.

The Summit features structured simulations including:

  • United Nations Security Council (UNSC)
  • United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC)
  • Lok Sabha
  • Maharashtra Legislative Assembly (Vidhan Sabha)

The event aims to provide students with practical exposure to legislative debate, international diplomacy, constitutional governance, and public policy formulation.

Theme

The Summit focuses on constitutional governance, democratic accountability, global security, human rights protection, and state-level legislative challenges through structured committee simulations.

Committees & Agendas

  • United Nations Security Council (UNSC): Enhancing Accountability Mechanisms for Private Military and Security Companies (PMSC) in Conflict Zones.
  • United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC): Addressing systemic human rights violations in penitentiary facilities with special emphasis on prison privatisation.
  • Lok Sabha: Discussion on Electoral Integrity and Democratic Reforms and an assessment of Illegal Immigration, with Special Reference to the implementation of Special Intensive Revision (SIR).
  • Maharashtra Legislative Assembly (Vidhan Sabha): Discussion on farmer suicide with respect to price parity and sustainable livelihoods in Maharashtra’s agricultural landscape from a legislative and policymaking perspective and understanding the difficulties in the agriculture sector.

Eligibility

Open to undergraduate and postgraduate students from law and non-law institutions. Both individual delegates and institutional delegations may register.
