About the Institution

Dr. D. Y. Patil Law College, Pimpri Pune, established under Dr. D. Y. Patil Unitech Society (1990), is a reputed law institution affiliated with Savitribai Phule Pune University. The college is NAAC accredited with a CGPA of 2.9 (‘B++’ Grade) and is known for promoting experiential legal learning through moots, debates, research activities, and legal literacy programmes.

About the Competition

The 5th National Level Moot Court Competition 2026 aims to enhance advocacy skills, legal research abilities, and courtroom exposure among law students through simulated court proceedings conducted in offline mode. Participation is limited to 18 teams only.

Venue: Dr. D.Y. Patil Law College, Pimpri, Pune

Dates: 28th & 29th March 2026

Theme of the Competition

The competition focuses on legal issues arising under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012(POCSO Act), particularly the determination of the victim’s age, evidentiary value of medical and documentary proof, scope of judicial powers during bail proceedings, and the balance between protection of minors and the constitutional right to personal liberty of the accused.

Eligibility

  • Open to students pursuing undergraduate or postgraduate law courses from recognised institutions.
  • Participation shall be in teams as per competition rules.

Registration Details

  • Registration Fee: ₹2,500/- per team
  • Last Date for Registration: 22nd March 2026

 Total Prize Pool: ₹1,25,000/-

  1. Winners: ₹51,000/- + Trophy + Certificate of Merit
  2. Runner-Up: ₹31,000/- + Trophy + Certificate of Merit
  3. 2nd Runner-Up: ₹21,000/- + Trophy + Certificate of Merit
  4. Best Memorial: ₹11,000/- + Trophy + Certificate of Merit
  5. Best Speaker: ₹11,000/- + Trophy + Certificate of Merit
