About the Job
The National Law School of India University (NLSIU) invites applications for the following positions under the project ‘Access to Justice in Citizenship Determination’ –
- One role as a Research Assistant (Domestic Law Analysis).
- One role as a Research Assistant (International Law).
Eligibility
- Degree in Law, with at least three years of relevant work experience or a Master’s Degree in Law or Social Sciences. Preference will be given to candidates who hold a degree in criminal law, human rights law, and allied fields.
- Excellent writing skills.
- In addition, the candidate must have:
- Ability to work in a team, contributing to both team and individual goals.
- Ability to meticulously use different legal research databases.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of G-Suite, MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Good communication, organizing and time management skills
Responsibilities
Researcher (Domestic Law Analysis)
Role Description
- Collation and analysis of case law on citizenship determination in the state of Assam.
- Draft and finalize the chapter on domestic case law for the legal report.
- Assist in organizing report launch.
Researcher (International Law)
Role Description
- Collation and analysis of international law standards on statelessness and citizenship deprivation.
- Draft and finalize the chapter on international law for the legal report.
- Assist in organizing the report launch.
Both researchers will work under the direct supervision of Ms Darshana Mitra, Assistant Professor, NLSIU and the Principal Investigator of the project.
