About the Rajasthan School of Law for Women

Rajasthan School of Law for Women was established in the year 2018 in Kanoria College Campus, opposite Rajasthan University. The college is approved by Bar Council of India and is affiliated to Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Law University (previously affiliated to University of Rajasthan).

About the Debate Competition

Rajasthan School of Law for Women in association with Rajasthan State Legal Services Authority is organizing “Parley 2.0 : National Debate Competition” from May 30 to 31, 2022.

The objective of this competition is to inculcate a healthy debate culture amongst students and contrive them to defend what they stand for. The debate competition aims to provide the students with an opportunity to learn and experience the art of debating.

Eligibility

Students pursuing law course of 3 years or 5 years duration from any University/Institute /College approved by Bar Council of India are eligible to participate in the event.

Theme

  • Preliminary (Round 1): Women Reservation Bill : A Weapon
  • Semi-Final (Round 2): Gender Neutrality : Need of the Hour
  • Final (Round 3): Remuneration for Household Work is Justified

Important Dates

  • Last Date for Registration– May 26, 2022
  • Date of Competition– May 30-31, 2022

Event Guideline

  • Team will comprise of two participants speaking For and Against the Motion from each university/Institution/College.
  • Students from same college / university can participate as a team.
  • Students from different college / university can participate as a team.
  • For round 2, two participants each (for and against) would be selected.
  • Each Candidate will be allotted 3+1 minutes in Preliminary Round and Semifinal Round.
  • Each Candidate will be allotted 5+1 minutes in Final Round.
  • Rebuttal would be entertained at the discretion of judge.
  • The medium of communication will be English only.
  • The dress code for the competition is western or Indian formals.

  • Best Speaker FOR the Motion: Cash Prize of 2,100/- and E-certificate
  • Runner Up FOR the Motion: Cash Prize of1,100/- and E-certificate
  • Best Speaker AGAINST the Motion: Cash Prize of 2,100/- and  E-certificate
  • Runner Up AGAINST the Motion: Cash Prize of 1,100/- and E-certificate
  • Certificate for Appreciation: Cash Prize of 500/- and E-certificate
  • Certificate for Appreciation: Cash Prize of 500/- and E-certificate
  • E-certificates will be provided to all the participants.

The competition would be conducted online.
