About Organisation
The National Law School of India University, the Nation’s premier law university, came into existence through a Notification under the National Law School of India University Act (Karnataka Act 22 of 1986). It signified the culmination of efforts by the Judiciary, the Bar Council of India, the Karnataka Bar Council, the Bangalore University, and the Government of Karnataka to reform legal education and establish a center of excellence for legal education and research in India.
About Centre for Environmental Law, Education, Research and Advocacy (CEERA)
The Centre for Environmental Law, Education, Research and Advocacy (CEERA), established in 1997 is a benefactor of the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change (MoEF & CC), Government of Karnataka, the Bar, and the Bench in India and abroad. Building an environmental law database, effectively networking among all stakeholders, building up an environmental law community, and policy research in the area of the environment are CEERA’s main objectives. To achieve the aforesaid, CEERA has incessantly and successfully been able to build functional and professional linkages with government agencies and non-governmental organizations in India, the south-Asian region, and at international levels.
About the Opportunity
This event aims to provide a platform for policymakers, innovators, and other interested stakeholders to convene, address, and tackle the challenges that the present Aatmanirbhar Bharat scheme entails. They aim that this Competition brings innovative, dynamic, and brilliant thinking from diverse backgrounds to tackle the pressing challenges under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat scheme. The Teams are expected to design innovative policy solutions to counter subsisting issues followed by a workshop and roundtable discussion where participants and academicians in the field deliberate on the problem, discuss policy measures, and eventually present a robust framework for the same.
Eligibility
The Policy Hackathon is open to all Colleges/Institutions/Policy Makers/Researchers/Faculties across India.
- Students currently pursuing 3-year or 5-year LLB courses
- Students pursuing a Master’s degree in law, public policy, or any related course
- Public Policy Students, Scholars & Researchers
- Management students and academicians
- Academicians in the field of Public Policy
- Experts in the field
Each participating team shall comprise a maximum of 3 members.
Theme
- The policy proposal must align with the competition’s theme and focus areas, as outlined in the competition announcement or guidelines.
- Submissions unrelated to the specified theme will not be considered.
Registration Fee
The registration fee for a team is INR 3,500/- (Rupees Three Thousand & Five Hundred Only).

Perks: The Best Policy Statement shall be shared with the Government of India, as a Policy Recommendation.
