About the Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy

The Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy (‘Vidhi’) is an independent think-tank doing legal research to make better laws and improve governance for the public good. We do this through high quality, peer reviewed original legal research; through engaging with the Government of India, state governments and other public institutions to both inform policymaking and to effectively convert policy into law. Vidhi has offices in New Delhi, Karnataka and Maharashtra.

The internship programme at Vidhi provides an opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students from diverse backgrounds to engage in research on cutting-edge global issues of law and policy. The internship offers a pre-professional and practical public policy work experience through a placement in one of our key research areas

About the Opportunity

Our internships are virtual and last for a minimum of 8 weeks and a maximum of 12 weeks. Interns benefit from direct involvement in projects across a wide range of topics such as constitutional research, emerging issues around technology and the law, urban governance, public health, among others, while also supporting operations and events.

Working closely with a network of subject experts, interns will have the opportunity to execute their research ideas and have their research published. Interns will also have the chance to work closely with governments in carrying out research and legislative drafting and analysis in dedicated areas, and get a firsthand experience of India’s governance and constitutional frameworks.
