About the Course
The Law of Evidence (Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023) course offers an in-depth exploration of the principles and processes governing the proof of facts in judicial proceedings. With the enactment of the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023, India has witnessed a landmark reform in its evidentiary framework, replacing the colonial Indian Evidence Act, 1872.
This course is designed to help learners understand the conceptual foundations and contemporary relevance of evidentiary law in the Indian legal system. It examines the transition from the old regime to the new, emphasizing the modernization of evidentiary rules to accommodate digital records, electronic communications, and AI-generated data. Through case studies, discussions, and practical illustrations, participants will engage with both traditional doctrines and emerging challenges in the administration of justice.
