Dharmashastra National Law University, Jabalpur (DNLU) was established by the Madhya Pradesh National Law University Act 24 of 2018. The University was unveiled by the noted legal luminaries, leaders, and educationists in 2018 with a vision to be the center of excellence in legal education and research by disseminating quality education and training; nurturing vibrant legal culture through judicious practices and ethically responsible pursuits.
About CCL
Established in 2020, the Centre for Constitutional Law (CCL) at Dharmashastra National Law University (DNLU), Jabalpur, serves as a dynamic platform for students and scholars to critically explore and engage with contemporary constitutional issues beyond the traditional classroom setting.
About Nyayanama
Nyayanama is a one-of-a-kind academic simulation that brings together the deliberative depth of a Mock Parliament/ Constituent Assembly simulation and the diplomatic structure of a Model UN.
This simulation challenges participants to navigate complex party politics, ideological divergences, and the intricate process of constitutional drafting all within a fictional yet realistic nation. Curated to ignite critical thinking, collaborative drafting, and constitutional debate, this flagship event of the Constitutional Law Centre offers students a unique platform to engage with the spirit of nation-building.
Competition Format
Prelims
For the preliminary round, each participant shall be required to pay a preliminary registration fee, the details of which are provided in the Registration Section of the brochure.
All registered participants will be presented with a common situation/scenario, inspired by contemporary constitutional or socio-political issues, along with a motion. Participants must then submit a two-minute video of themselves articulating their stance on the motion, through the same
The video shall be recorded in a proper, well-lit environment, with clear audio and video quality.
This round will evaluate participants on two parameters: Oratorical proficiency which includes clarity, persuasiveness & effective articulation in limited timeframe; and Critical Reasoning which includes understanding of the subject matter and engaging with it critically.

Main Event
Total 40 participants will be shortlisted from the preliminary round to proceed to the main event, which will be held at the DNLU Campus. The short listed participants will be required to pay a second registration fee, which shall be
The participants will be provided, beforehand, with a detailed profile of a hypothetical country along with portfolios of five to six political parties. After completing desk registration at the campus, participants, through Draw of Lots, will be randomly assigned to these parties of which will be of uneven size, reflecting the dynamics of real-world political systems.
- The ideologies, roles, and functions of each party will be compiled in a portfolio, which will be released along with the Country Dossier.
- The main event will consist of four rounds, each round being accompanied by a motion. Each participant will be allotted a two-minute window to express their stance on the motion in each round.
- Prior to the commencement of each round, each party will be provided with a tailored draft of the Constitution and will be granted one hour to outline and submit their proposals. The finalized draft must be submitted to the Organizing Committee via email within the stipulated time frame.
- Extra points will be awarded to each member of the party whose proposals written in the constitution draft will get passed during the motions.
- A window pane of limited time span will be open for all the members to vote on the motion proposed by each of the parties, through secret ballot. In addition to the moderated sessions, the exercise will also include an unmoderated caucus, the details and rules of which shall be provided in the Rulebook.
- The Hypothetical Country Dossier/Problem statement, the Political Party Portfolios, the detailed Rulebook for the Main Event, and the motions shall be made available to the shortlisted participants in a shared drive afer the completion of the preliminary screening, which will be shared via email.

The final discretion for short-listing of candidates for the event rests with the Centre for Constitutional Law.

Fee: Rs.1500/-(Without Accommodation) (Participants will be provided with high tea and lunch)
For accommodation assistance will be provided but the payment has to be made by the participants directly to the hotel, if at all the participants want to avail the services, otherwise they may book any hotel of their choice.
Short-listed participants will receive an official email with further instructions.

Awards
Individual awards will be presented to participants who exhibit excellence across various dimensions of the simulation. The awards recognize outstanding performance in oration, constitutional reasoning, strategic engagement, and collaboration.

- Samvidhan Shiromani (Distinguished Delegate – 2nd Prize) – Certificate of Merit and Cash Prize: Rs.25,000/-
- Rajya Vidhyarthi ( 3rd Prize) – Certificate of Merit and Cash Prize: Rs.15,000/-
Honourable Mention
Two participants will receive special recognition for distinguished performances.
