About the Webinar
In an era of heightened environmental consciousness, “green” claims have become a powerful marketing tool. However, many such claims are vague, exaggerated, or unsubstantiated – a practice commonly known as greenwashing. This National Webinar will examine the growing problem of misleading environmental claims and the legal tools available to combat them.
The session will cover the regulatory framework in India along with advertising standards, relevant case laws, enforcement mechanisms, and practical legal strategies for consumers, businesses, regulators, and practitioners.

Dr. Ashish Saraswat, Assistant Professor (Law), National Law University, Jodhpur

Dr. Saraswat holds a Ph.D. on “Evolving Legal Framework for Solar Energy in India: A Study in the Context of Energy Justice and Sustainable Development.” He completed his LL.M. in International Legal Studies from South Asian University, New Delhi, and his B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) from Amity Law School, New Delhi.
His academic interests include public international law, international environmental law, energy law, climate change law, refugee law, law and technology, and human rights law. He has published extensively in reputed national and international journals and edited volumes on renewable energy law, environmental law, and allied areas.
