Registrations are invited for Panjab University Department of Laws Model United Nations (DOLMUN) to be held on 5th-6th April,2024.

About Department of Laws
The Department of Laws, originally established at Lahore in 1889, was re-established at Shimla in 1948, shifted to Jalandhar in 1950 and finally re-located at the University Campus at Chandigarh in 1959. The Department is the pride alma mater of three Chief Justices of India, a large number of Chief Justices of the High Courts, members of subordinate judiciary, civil servants, law officers and members of the legal profession and a large number of legal luminaries and justices.
About DOLMUN
Department of Laws MUN brings to you a forum for leadership and diplomacy, providing an opportunity to discuss ideas, debate upon contemporary issues, learn about UN council and navigating the intricacies of international affairs, and formulate solutions for the impending global problems related to entrepreneurship, business, world market, digitization and economic reforms. This immersive experience invites you to connect, challenge, and contribute to the discourse in a vibrant setting that echoes the esteemed legacy of our institution.
DOLMUN will consist of the following committees and their agendas:
- United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) [UTF-8?] – Role of Science and Technology in the context of International Security and Disarmament
- United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC)- Human Rights Situation in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem, and the Obligation to Ensure Accountability and Justice.
- All India Political Parties Meet (AIPPM)- Exploring Freedom of Speech and Expression, particularly in Relation to Communal Tensions, Internet Issues, and Censorship.
International Press (IP) – Photographers/Videographers, Caricaturists and Journalists
Eligibility
All University and college students are eligible. Multiple entries from one institution are allowed.
