About National Human Rights Commission

The National Human Rights Commission is the apex human right watchdog body established by “The Protection of Human Rights Act, 1993” to protect and promote human rights in the country. Section 12 of the said acts provides myriad of function to the Commission which range from inquiring complaints of human rights violations, undertaking visits in detention centres, reviewing safeguards, studying international instruments on human rights, spreading human rights literacy, and so on.

About the Job

The National Human Rights Commission has invited applications for empanelment as Legal Research Consultants on a contractual basis. The role requires candidates to possess sound knowledge of the Protection of Human Rights Act, 1993, along with the procedural regulations framed under the Act.

Candidates must possess:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Law from a reputed law school or college in India
  • Minimum 70% marks or an equivalent grade

Skills Required

  • Sound knowledge of the Protection of Human Rights Act, 1993
  • Understanding of procedural regulations framed under the Act
  • Legal research and analytical skills

Remuneration

The LRCs shall be paid based on the units of work done @ Rs. 100 per unit. The total remuneraon in a month for Registraon/ Aachment of dak, preparaon of proceeding and other legal work etc. shall not exceed Rs. 75,000/-. (details are here)
