About the Job
AWL Agri Business Ltd. is looking to hire a Legal Professional to support its legal and compliance functions. The role involves handling litigation, intellectual property matters, contract lifecycle management, and regulatory compliance in relation to the FMCG business.
Eligibility
- LLB/LLM with 2 to 5 years of post-qualification experience exclusively in the FMCG sector.
- Demonstrated practical expertise in litigation, regulatory compliance, business advisory relating to food laws and environmental legislation, contract management, and intellectual property matters.
- Strong commercial acumen, business partnership skills, and effective communication abilities for interacting with internal stakeholders and regulatory authorities.
- Willingness to relocate to Ahmedabad and travel as required for litigation, internal audits, and cross-functional support.
- Experience in both in-house legal departments and law firms will be considered an advantage.
Responsibilities
- Advise on and manage the full range of litigation matters, including civil, criminal, food safety, intellectual property rights (IPR), Legal Metrology, APMC, and land revenue cases. This includes appearing in courts, coordinating with external counsel, and ensuring proactive dispute resolution.
- Lead strategy and execution in intellectual property matters, including trademarks, copyright, designs, patents, domain matters, enforcement actions, oppositions, anti-counterfeiting initiatives, and portfolio management.
- Handle end-to-end Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM), including drafting, reviewing, negotiating, vetting, and renewing commercial agreements related to supply chain, manufacturing, distribution, technology, marketing, and HR, while maintaining proper documentation.
- Provide legal advisory on food safety regulations, FSSA compliance, Legal Metrology requirements, packaging compliance, and environmental regulations such as EPR/CPCB, ensuring business operations align with statutory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, including updates and implementation of legal regimes affecting the FMCG business such as the Legal Metrology Act, the Food Safety & Standards Act, and relevant environmental legislation.
- Identify potential legal risks affecting the business and provide practical guidance to business leadership and operational teams.
- Advise on customer complaints, regulatory queries, and notices from authorities to ensure prompt resolution and minimize legal risks.
- Engage with municipal, quasi-judicial, and regulatory authorities for regulatory approvals and efficient business operations.
