About the Job

Sagar Chandra & Associates is looking for a legal professional to manage and support clients’ global intellectual property portfolios, including trademarks, copyrights, patents, industrial designs, and domain names.

The role involves prosecution, portfolio management, enforcement, litigation support, commercial IP agreements, due diligence, and coordination with external counsel across multiple jurisdictions.

Eligibility

Candidates should have 4–8 years of post-qualification experience (PQE).

Responsibilities

• Manage global trademark, copyright, patent, industrial design, and domain name portfolios.
• Coordinate IP clearance searches, filing strategies, prosecution, renewals, recordals, assignments, licences, and maintenance activities.
• Draft and review IP-related agreements, including licences, assignments, coexistence, settlement, franchise, and brand collaboration agreements.
• Support IP litigation by preparing evidence, chronologies, and litigation trackers, and coordinating with external counsel.
• Manage global external counsel.
• Monitor statutory deadlines through IP docketing systems and ensure timely filings and renewals.
• Assist in implementing and maintaining IP docketing software and validating portfolio data.
• Coordinate trademark enforcement, anti-counterfeiting initiatives, customs recordals, cease-and-desist actions, and online brand protection activities.
• Conduct IP due diligence for acquisitions, licensing, and commercial transactions.
• Prepare periodic portfolio reports, management dashboards, expenditure reports, and status updates.
• Maintain complete electronic records and support knowledge transfer and portfolio transition activities.
• Provide strategic and legal support on global intellectual property matters.
