About the Job

Unilever is hiring a Legal Associate – Privacy for its UniOps Bangalore Centre. The role is part of the Unilever Legal Powerhouse and the Global Privacy Team, supporting privacy operations, compliance programmes, advisory functions, and cross-functional collaboration across multiple jurisdictions.

Eligibility

• Legally qualified
• 3–5 years of experience in data protection, privacy, or related compliance areas
• Strong understanding of privacy compliance processes, including Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) and Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs)
• Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders in a global environment
• Practical understanding of technology functionality, digital tools, and data flows
• Understanding of the interaction between privacy and cyber security responsibilities
• Ability to independently manage workstreams with limited supervision
• Experience in project coordination or programme support

Responsibilities

• Provide practical privacy guidance across core privacy processes and escalate complex matters where required
• Manage lower to medium complexity Privacy Risk Assessments (PRAs) and stakeholder queries
• Support Local Privacy Advisers with Records of Processing Activities (ROPAs), DSARs, incident management, and privacy notice updates
• Assist in negotiating standard privacy clauses and contracts using established playbooks
• Support implementation of privacy-by-design requirements across projects
• Identify process improvements and contribute to operational efficiency
• Maintain and update the master Local Privacy Adviser contact list
• Build effective collaboration between the Global Privacy Team and Local Privacy Advisers across assigned regions
• Prepare reports on privacy trends, risks, and performance metrics
• Contribute to the development of privacy guidance, playbooks, templates, and operational processes
• Collaborate with technology, cyber, legal, and business teams to manage privacy risks
• Mentor junior team members and promote standardised ways of working
• Contribute to the design and delivery of global privacy training programmes
• Maintain and update the Privacy SharePoint and supporting resources
• Support the development and monitoring of AI-enabled privacy training tools and content
