About the Job

Unilever is hiring a Legal Associate to join its Legal Powerhouse Team supporting Research & Development and Innovation. The role involves working on intellectual property matters, contract negotiations, governance, and compliance while supporting business teams in managing legal risks.

Eligibility

• LL.B. (LL.M. preferred) from a recognized university.
• Candidates with 4–7 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) practicing law in a corporate legal department or a law firm.
• Strong experience in IP advisory and contract review.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with fluency in English.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing abilities.
• Ability to analyse legal risks and provide practical business-oriented solutions.
• Experience in contract lifecycle management and negotiation of complex contracts.
• Prior experience working in a multinational, FMCG, or B2C business environment.

Responsibilities

• Review, draft, and negotiate agreements including NDAs, material transfer agreements, research services agreements, clinical agreements, and other related contracts.
• Handle contract negotiation and risk management while safeguarding Unilever’s interests in third-party contracts.
• Provide advisory support on intellectual property matters, ensuring confidentiality and protection of IP assets.
• Support governance and compliance initiatives by ensuring adherence to company policies and legal standards.
• Simplify complex legal issues for R&D stakeholders and provide practical legal guidance.
