LEX MANTIS is inviting applications for the position of Junior Associate to join its team in Mumbai. The role is suitable for candidates interested in building a career in Intellectual Property and Commercial Contracts.

Eligibility

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (BA LL.B., BLS LL.B., LL.B.) or LL.M.
• Desirable: Bachelor’s degree in Law with 60% marks or equivalent, or a Master’s degree in Law
• Minimum 1.5 years of experience in IP and contract management, either at an IP law firm or in-house
• Enrolled with the Maharashtra Bar Council
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel)

Responsibilities

The Junior Associate will be responsible for:

• Reviewing and negotiating contractual terms and conditions in commercial deals
• Assisting in drafting POSH policies for companies
• Handling client queries and drafting legal opinions
• Managing trademark and copyright matters, including filing, prosecution, oppositions, cancellations, and assignments
• Drafting and reviewing cease and desist notices for IP infringement
• Drafting and reviewing agreements including MSAs, NDAs, website policies, collaboration agreements, share purchase agreements, MOUs, employment agreements, and procurement policies
• Researching and summarizing recent case law updates
• Assisting in vetting contracts
• Preparing presentations, notes, and legal summaries
