About the Job

Bureau is inviting applications for the position of Legal Associate at its Bangalore office. The role involves supporting the company’s legal operations through contract management, legal advisory, risk assessment, and compliance-related work in a fast-paced and cross-functional environment.

Eligibility

Applicants should:

  • Hold an LL.B. degree from a recognised law school in India
  • Have 1–2 years of post-qualification experience in a startup, reg-tech, fintech, bank, or multinational company environment
  • Possess a strong background in commercial and employment law
  • Demonstrate experience in:
    • Contract drafting
    • Redlining and negotiation
    • Legal risk assessment
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Possess strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Be comfortable managing multiple priorities independently
  • Be proficient in MS Office and modern productivity and AI-based tools
  • Demonstrate integrity, accountability, and a solution-oriented mindset

Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • Drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and redlining commercial agreements, including:
    • SaaS agreements
    • Data protection agreements
    • Reseller and partnership agreements
    • Vendor agreements
    • Employment-related agreements
  • Advising internal stakeholders on operational legal matters, contract structuring, and risk mitigation
  • Handling legal matters relating to employment law, intellectual property, and product-related issues
  • Coordinating with external legal counsel and managing internal legal workflows
  • Maintaining contract trackers, MIS records, and legal documentation systems
  • Conducting legal research and analysing evolving laws and regulations
  • Participating in legal projects and cross-functional initiatives
  • Identifying process improvements and operational efficiencies
