About the Job

Viva Money is hiring an Assistant Manager – Legal to join its Legal & Compliance team. This is an on-site role in Bengaluru for candidates with 4–6 years of post-qualification experience. Immediate joiners are preferred.

Eligibility

• LL.B. degree from a recognized university (Bar Council enrolment preferred)
• 4–6 years of post-qualification experience (Fintech/NBFC/Banking/Technology preferred)
• Strong experience in contract drafting, review, and negotiation
• Working knowledge of regulatory frameworks applicable to digital lending
• Understanding of data protection laws in India
• Strong research, analytical, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams

Responsibilities

Legal & Regulatory Compliance

• Support compliance with applicable laws including RBI directions, company law, consumer protection, and contract law
• Assist business and product teams in evaluating regulatory implications of new products and process changes
• Track regulatory developments and assess operational impact

Contract Drafting & Commercial Advisory

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements including vendor contracts, technology agreements, marketing agreements, MSAs, and NDAs
• Provide commercially sound legal advice to internal stakeholders
• Support standardization and improvement of contract templates

Product & Operational Support

• Review customer-facing documents such as loan agreements, terms & conditions, and policy documents
• Collaborate with compliance, risk, product, and operations teams to ensure legally compliant processes

Risk Management & Dispute Handling

• Identify legal and regulatory risks and recommend mitigation strategies
• Assist in handling notices, customer disputes, regulatory queries, and litigation matters in coordination with external counsel

Data Protection & Governance

• Support implementation of data protection requirements under applicable laws, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023
• Review privacy notices, consent mechanisms, and data-related contractual provisions
• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure responsible handling of personal data
