About the Role

American Express is hiring for the position of Analyst – Legal within the Global Litigation and Investigations Team.

The Legal Analyst – Team Leader will lead a team of Legal Operations Specialists and provide operational support to the Global Legal Order Processing Center of Excellence.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Management, or related field
• 3–5 years of experience leading a team in an operations or in-house legal environment
• Strong people management, coaching, and communication skills
• Ability to work in a global team environment
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize urgent matters

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with US and other global laws and applicable procedures
• Manage case load of assigned colleagues
• Provide coaching, feedback, and performance management support
• Drive productivity, quality, and timeliness to meet established metrics
• Escalate complex issues to the legal advisory team
• Collaborate with advisory teams to identify process gaps and solutions
• Ensure legal and regulatory deadlines are met
• Maintain knowledge of privacy laws and regulatory requirements
• Assist with colleague onboarding, training, and performance reviews
• Manage colleague communications
• Provide operational support on legal projects as required
