About Journal of Intellectual Property Studies
The Journal of Intellectual Property Studies is a bi-annual, student-edited peer reviewed academic journal published by National Law University, Jodhpur. The Journal was established in 2016 and primarily deals with contemporary developments in the field of intellectual property and related laws. The ISSN Number of the Journal is 2583-5297.

There are few journals in India that delve deeply into current issues in the field of intellectual property rights. The journal aims to address this gap by providing a platform for exchanging ideas, thereby enhancing discourse on intellectual property rights among policymakers, practitioners, and scholars. To achieve this, it actively solicits articles from a diverse pool of contributors, including scholars, practitioners, and students.
About Call for Papers
The Board of Editors of the Journal of Intellectual Property Studies [JIPS], is pleased to invite original, unpublished manuscripts for publication in the upcoming Issue of the Journal (Volume X, Issue II) in the form of notes and articles. The Journal subjects all articles to a double-blind peer review process conducted by a Board of Peer Reviewers, guided by the faculty editors and assisted by the student editorial team prior to publication. We also benefit from the guidance of our illustrious Board of Advisors who help the Journal attain its objectives. The Journal stands by the ideals of open access to scholarly works, and it will be published online on an open-access platform for everyone to read and cite freely.
Eligibility
Academicians, practitioners, research scholars, and undergraduate and postgraduate students are eligible to send in submissions.
Theme/topics
The manuscripts must pertain to the field of intellectual property law or related fields such as media and technology law.
Submission Categories
The Journal accepts the following kinds of submissions
- Long Articles (6,000 – 10,000 words): Submissions should provide a comprehensive coverage of the available literature on the concerned topic and a novel perspective on the related issue with suggestions.
- Essays (4,000 – 6,000 words): Submissions should be relatively shorter and more focused in their treatment of the subject matter. Essays generally pertain to a narrower topic as compared to Long Articles.
- Case Comment (up to 5,000 words): Submissions should provide a critical analysis of significant case laws. Case comments must be accompanied by an abstract of 150-200 words.
- Legislative Comment (1000- 3000 words): Submissions should provide a comprehensive analysis of recent legislative developments. Legislative comments must be accompanied by an abstract of 150-200 words.
