I applied for the internship through filling the form which was available at the official website of the State Legal Services Authority Union Territory Chandigarh (http://chdslsa.gov.in).
This Internship generally comes twice a year Summer and Winter internships but I recommend checking the official website frequently so that you can keep yourself updated with any future opportunities.
Main tasks/ Work Profile
The major tasks I did included but were not limited to:
I. Visiting various places as per the Schedule provided which includes various Govt. Departments at the State Level, CCPCR, DART, Mediation Centre, Counselling Center, Runaway couple protection center, JJ Board, Snehalaya, Women Police Station, Legal Aid Clinics at different places, etc.
II. Attended various lectures of advocates, para legal volunteers and chairpersons of different institutions.
III. Conducted Door-to-door Campaigns to make people aware of Free Legal Aid and How they can avail of it in case they need any Legal assistance.
IV. Attended criminal, civil and family court proceedings.
V. Making report of daily work.
Work Environment
Every person I have met during the internship was very supportive and kind throughout the internship duration.
Good Things
Throughout the internship period I learn a lot of new things, this internship period was a time of great learning and valuable experience for me. I got to know about working functions of NLSA, SLSA and many more things.
Bad Things
No bad things I found about the internship.
Stipend No stipend.
