Name, College, Year of Study
I am Arpita Thakur a 2nd year BA.LLB student at Ajinkya D Y Patil University, Pune.
How Did You Apply
I asked my college to provide me with a recommendation letter for this internship. And I produced the letter at the office of OHRC. As per the vacancy they provided me with the internship.
Work Profile /Main Task
My college offered me a summer internship as it was offered to the other students. As my college has given me holidays for doing the internship I devoted all my time to doing my best in the internship provided to me.
I worked under Saste associates. Miss. Supriya Saste was the advocate I followed and worked under for the most part and was instrumental in my learning process and acted as a guide and mentor throughout my stay and internship.
It was an offline internship that was conducted from 9 am to 4 pm Monday to Friday. I learned various legal work and that helped me to acquaint myself better with respect to the field of law I was allotted some research work regarding property laws, which I was yet to study. The legal system in real life is much more than what we read in our course books. These were four weeks immense hard work and learning.
What I Learned the Most During The Internship
The internship provided a platform for practical application of classroom knowledge, provided me an exposure to the judicial system of our country and its technicalities, and helped me develop my research skills. What I experienced during the internship was that the most important duty as a law intern is to observe the workings of whatever environment you find yourself in. Many students go into law expecting it to always be dramatic and exciting. However, it’s important to come to terms with it as a job that, has both exciting and mundane parts.
During the Internship, I learned various aspects of the Law, and also realized that the reality of the courtrooms are very different from what I initially thought. I learned various aspects of Property Laws and was assigned to do some research work regarding the same
Work Environment
The work environment was very motivating and supportive. The other people working there were very friendly and I got to know many new things from them.
Perks
Certificate of Internship.
Stipend
No stipend was given.
Conclusion
It was a great experience for me it taught me a lot.
