Work environment
Mr. Nargund M B is the additional Solicitor General of India (Karnataka). He is the third highest ranking law officer of the state of Karnataka. He takes up cases for the state and central governments. Advocate Mr. Prakash who was the assistant of Mr. Nargund under the instructions of the additional solicitor general took me to the scrutiny committee and several other lower courts to show me how things work. The interaction level was great, and all the staff in the office were helpful.
Work experience
My role was an intern and I was allotted certain tasks which I had to complete within a set time frame. I was instructed to go to court halls and observe the court proceedings and note down relevant key observations at the end of the day. I had to submit that to the assistant of Mr. Nargund sir. Every week, 2 to 3 research topics were given to me to work on, and submit to them. They provided access to the library and online resources to help in research.
Good things
I have earned a vast amount of knowledge and how high court proceedings are held and even learnt how an advocate should behave in the premises of the court. I observed how judgments are given. I learned from this internship about the ethics of an advocate inside the courtroom and how to observe courtroom proceedings.
Bad things
There were no such bad things.
