About the Internship

Crown Chambers is seeking fresh law graduates and motivated law students interested in developing a career in litigation, corporate and commercial legal practice. Selected candidates will have opportunities to work on live matters and practical legal assignments, subject to the nature and requirements of matters handled by the firm.

Eligibility

Applications are invited from:

• Fresh law graduates looking to begin their legal careers.
• 4th and 5th-year students of 5-year integrated LL.B. programmes.
• 2nd and 3rd-year students of 3-year LL.B. programmes.

Preference may be given to candidates with strong academic and research backgrounds, prior internship or litigation experience, and candidates from NLUs, University of Delhi, O.P. Jindal Global University, Symbiosis International University and other reputed law schools.

Candidates should demonstrate strong research and drafting ability, analytical reasoning, attention to detail, initiative, professionalism and a genuine interest in practical legal practice.

Responsibilities

Candidates can expect exposure to:

• Legal research using SCC Online, Manupatra and other legal databases.
• Drafting and assisting with legal notices, pleadings, applications, written submissions and other legal documents.
• Civil and commercial litigation and case preparation.
• Real estate and property-related legal matters.
• Contract drafting, review and management.
• Corporate and commercial advisory work, including M&A and startup/VC-related matters, where applicable.
• Case-law research, case briefs and legal analysis.
• Preparation of chronologies, lists of dates and case summaries.
• Assisting with matters before the Supreme Court of India, Delhi High Court, District Courts, NCLT/NCLAT, MACT, Consumer Commissions and other courts and tribunals.
• Exposure to labour and employment, insolvency, arbitration, criminal/white-collar, matrimonial and other litigation and dispute-resolution matters.
• Court proceedings and practical litigation exposure, wherever appropriate.
• Assistance with matter preparation, legal strategy and client-related work under supervision.
• Preparing legal articles, case notes, research updates, practice updates and other professional legal content.
• General chamber work and professional legal documentation.

Duration

The initial duration is 1 month. The internship/traineeship may be extended for up to 6 months, subject to performance, suitability and mutual agreement.

Exceptional candidates may also be considered for longer-term opportunities.
