About the Noida International University
Noida International University is a private university located in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India. Arvind Kumar Singh was the chancellor of the university until March 2019.
About the Seminar
Mediation as a form of Alternative Dispute Resolution System is being increasingly used in the commercial sector at the national and international level because it is relatively cheap, less time consuming and settles the dispute in a consensual manner as opposed to the interminable, time-consuming and expensive litigation procedures.
However, mediation not being a statutory process, posses its own challenges in the spheres of legal recognition of the settlements and the authority of the mediators.
With a view to understanding thoroughly the principles, procedures and challenges of these justice delivery mechanisms, SLLA is conducting a One Day International Seminar on ‘Litigation v. Mediation: India and Bangladesh Experience’ on 28th May 2021, 11 a.m. IST.
About the Chief Guest and Hon’ble Speaker
The Hon’ble Speaker for the Seminar is Justice Halim Abdulla. He is the Judge of the District and Sessions Court in Bangladesh. He is also An ADR Specialist and Trainer. He is a Senior Fellow at Weinstein International Foundation, United States of America. He is also the Chairman of Bangladesh International Mediation and Arbitration Centre (BIMAC).
