About the Seminar/Conference

The International Seminar 2026 seeks to provide a distinguished academic platform for legal scholars, practitioners, policymakers, researchers, and students to critically examine whether existing definitions and legal frameworks governing war crimes remain adequate to address contemporary warfare.

The nature and character of armed conflict are undergoing profound transformation due to emerging technologies, asymmetric strategies, cyber operations, artificial intelligence, autonomous weapons, environmental degradation, and evolving geopolitical dynamics.

The Seminar will examine the evolving relationship between:

• International Humanitarian Law (IHL)
• International Criminal Law (ICL)
• International Human Rights Law
• State sovereignty
• International accountability

The Seminar will comprise four technical sessions, with two parallel sessions on each day, and will be conducted in Hybrid Mode, enabling both physical and online participation.

About Call for Papers

Participants are invited to submit original and unpublished abstracts addressing the Seminar’s principal theme or any of its sub-themes.

Abstracts should demonstrate:

• Analytical clarity
• Academic originality
• Contemporary relevance
• Engagement with legal and policy issues
• Research quality and academic rigour

Participants may adopt interdisciplinary and comparative approaches, which are particularly encouraged.

Authors whose abstracts are accepted may subsequently be invited to submit full papers for presentation and possible publication.

Co-authorship is permitted, with a maximum of two authors per submission. In the case of co-authored full papers, both authors are required to register separately.

Submission Guidelines

• The submission must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere.
• Abstracts must not have been previously published or presented elsewhere.
• Authors must ensure compliance with academic integrity and publication ethics.
• Submissions must be free from plagiarism.
• Manuscripts exceeding the permissible plagiarism threshold of 10–15%, as determined by the Organising/Editorial Committee, may be rejected.
• Authors are responsible for the originality of their work, accuracy of citations, and authenticity of information.
• Submission of an abstract does not guarantee acceptance of the full paper or publication.
• Selected papers may be considered for publication in an edited book, conference proceedings, or a reputed journal, subject to applicable editorial and peer-review requirements.

• Complete registration within the stipulated registration period.
• Authors of accepted abstracts who are invited to submit full papers should submit the full paper within the prescribed deadline.
