About Indian Institute of Legal Studies

The Indian Institute of Legal Studies, located in the sub-Himalayan town of Siliguri is organizing an International Moot Court Competition on May 9th, 10th and 11th, 2025. The Indian Institute of Legal Studies, Siliguri, affiliated with the University of North Bengal, offers a variety of esteemed legal programs. It is recognized by the Bar Council of India (BCI) and approved under Section 2(f) and Section 12(B) under the University Grants Commission Act, 1956. The Institute focuses on the integration of legal theory with practical application, preparing students to lead legal reforms in India.

Theme

The Rights Of Indigenous People In The Sphere Of International Law.

Eligibility

• FOR INDIAN STUDENTS: Students pursuing their undergraduate degree in law or either in the 5 year Integrated course or 3 year course and post graduate degree in law in 2 years course or 1 year course from any recognized university, college or institution in India are eligible to participate in the competition.
• FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS: Students pursuing a degree, or similar graduate or postgraduate qualification or training in law, or a field related to international law, or in international relations, provided that they have received, or will receive while participating, adequate instruction in international law are eligible to participate in the competition.
• Limitation in Number of Teams: Every participating institution shall register only one(1) team.

Registration Fee

• REGISTRATION (WITH ACCOMMODATION): RS 6000
• REGISTRATION(WITHOUT ACCOMMODATION): RS 5100

Mode of the Competition

The Competition will be held offline.

• WINNER TROPHY AWARD Rs 1,00,000/- with trophy
• RUNNER UP TROPHY AWARD Rs. 50,000/- with Trophy
• Best Speaker Award Rs. 15,000/- with Trophy
• Best Researcher Rs. 15,000/- with Trophy
• Award Best Memorial Award Rs.10,000/- with Trophy
• Each team members shall be awarded with trophy as a token of appreciation. All the Participants will get participation certificates post the Valedictory Ceremony.

Important Dates

• Final registration begins on 8th February, 2025
• Final Registration ends on 15th March, 2025
• Deadline for submission of soft copy of memorials is on 20th April, 2025
• The Competition is to be held on 9th, 10th and 11th May, 2025.
• The hard copy of the memorials is to be submitted on the first day of the competition i.e. on 9th May, 2025.
