About the Event

The International Client Counselling Competition 3.0, 2026 is organised by the Department of Law, Manipal University Jaipur, in association with the Green Horizon Club. The Competition provides law students with a professionally oriented platform to develop and demonstrate their skills in client interviewing, legal analysis, communication, counselling, ethical decision making, and teamwork.

The Competition will be conducted in a hybrid format, with the Preliminary Round being held online and the subsequent rounds being conducted offline at the Manipal University Jaipur campus.

Eligibility

  • Students pursuing a three-year or five-year integrated law degree from a recognised University, College, School or Department of Law.
  • Students pursuing postgraduate, diploma/certificate, or part time law programmes are not eligible.
  • Each institution may register a maximum of three teams.
  • Each team shall comprise exactly two members from the same institution.

Competition Format

  • Preliminary Round: Online (Google Meet) – 4th October 2026
  • Quarter-Final: Offline (MUJ) – 9th October 2026
  • Semi-Final: Offline (MUJ) – 10th October 2026
  • Final: Offline (MUJ) – 10th October 2026

Prizes

Certificates and merchandise shall be distributed in accordance with the arrangements of the Organising Committee.

Competition Guidelines

The Competition involves simulated client consultations, wherein participants are expected to identify client concerns, gather relevant facts, analyse the legal position, explain available options, address practical and ethical considerations, and provide a coherent course of action while maintaining a professional client relationship.

Participants will be evaluated on parameters including:

  • Fact gathering
  • Active listening
  • Issue identification

  • Questioning technique
  • Empathy and client management
  • Advice and strategy
  • Ethics and professionalism
  • Closing and overall effectiveness

Registration Guidelines

Registration is to be completed through the official registration form along with the prescribed registration fee.

  • Preliminary Round: 4th October 2026 – Online
  • Quarter-Final: 9th October 2026 – Offline at MUJ
  • Semi-Final: 10th October 2026 – Offline at MUJ

Registration Fees

  • Registration Fee: INR 3,000 per team
  • Advance Round Participation Fee: INR 3,500 per qualifying team

The Advance Round Participation Fee includes accommodation, food and participant kits.
