About the Organisation
Christ Academy Institute of Law (CAIL) is a prominent law school located in Bengaluru and is affiliated to the Karnataka State Law University (KSLU). CAIL aims at molding leaders who are intellectually, spiritually and morally upright and who will strive for the cause of justice, truth and peace.
Under the management of the Carmalites of Mary Immaculate (CMI) priests and guided by India’s core constitutional values, the curriculum at CAIL aims to deliver socially engaged legal education meeting the highest global academic and professional standards. It directly engages with social challenges, especially evaluating and responding to the legal dimensions of globalization and its impact. Five-year B.A. LL.B., B.B.A. LL.B.. B.Com. LL.B.
About Centre for Law and Environment
The Centre for Law and Environment at CAIL promotes environmental awareness through the lens of legal education. It equips students with knowledge of national and international legal frameworks for environmental protection.
The Centre conducts seminars, discussions, and awareness programmes on issues like conservation, sustainable development, and environmental justice. Engaging students in analysing key legislation and landmark judgments, it fosters informed dialogue and advocacy. Emphasis is also placed on understanding the practical implications of state and national environmental laws.
About the Event
The Inter-College Eco Policy Drafting Competition is more than just an event-it’s a journey into the world of ideas, innovation, and impact. It brings together students from across colleges to think, debate, and draft policies that address one of the most urgent challenges of our time: climate change. With the theme of Corporate Climate Responsibility, participants get the chance to step into the shoes of real policymakers and design solutions that hold businesses accountable while promoting sustainability.
The competition, organised by the Centre for Law and Environment in online mode, provides a unique platform for young minds to engage with real-world issues in a collaborative setting. This competition is a blend of creativity, teamwork, and critical thinking. It encourages students to move beyond textbooks and use their knowledge to craft practical responses to environmental challenges.
At its core, the event celebrates the power of youth to drive corporate responsibility and shape policies for a greener tomorrow. It’s not just about winning-it’s about learning, collaborating, and growing into leaders who can make a real difference for people and the planet
Eligibility
The competition is open for undergraduate and postgraduate students, studying in any of the recognized Schools/Colleges/Departments of the Universities.

CORPORATE ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY
Prizes
- Winner – ₹5,000
- Runner Up – ₹3,000
- E-Certificates for all participants
Submission Guidelines
- Submissions should be in English.
- The Policy Submission shall not exceed 10,000 words excluding references.
- The text font of the submission must be Times New Roman with size 12 for the main body and size 10 in case of footnotes.
- Line Spacing should be set to 1.5 for the main body and 1 for the footnotes.
- Alignment of the text should be justified
- Citation Style – APA Citation
- Page numbers must be mentioned at the bottom right corner.
- Submissions should be made in pdf format only.
- No more than 15 percent similarity will be allowed.
- If the plagiarism is between 15% to 20% there shall be a deduction of 10 marks and similarity of more than 20% will lead to disqualification.
- The file should not contain any details of the Participants
- The participants need to submit a separate file containing their personal details.
- When the organizers publish the policies, they reserve the rights over the same.
- The decisions of the organizers shall be final and binding.
- The organizers reserve the right to amend any condition or rules in the competition. Non-adherence of any of the guidelines may lead to disqualification of the participants.
