About Commission for Air Quality Management in National Capital Region and Adjoining Areas
The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) in National Capital Region and Adjoining Areas is a statutory body established by the Government of India in 2021 to manage, coordinate, and research air quality issues in Delhi-NCR and neighboring states (Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh). It holds overriding powers to issue directions, enforce penalties for pollution, and implement air quality management plans.
About the Job
The Commission for Air Quality Management in National Capital Region and Adjoining Areas is hereby inviting the Applications for empanelment of Advocates to represent the Commission before Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, Hon’ble Delhi High Court, NGT (Principal Bench), Delhi and CAT (Principal Bench), Delhi.
Eligibility
Supreme Court of India (Senior Panel Counsel)
- Bachelor’s degree in Law conferred by a University recognized by the Bar Council of India and should be enrolled as an advocate under the provisions of The Advocates Act, 1961.
- Specialization in environment related subject, e.g., Degree/ Diploma/ Certificate.
Supreme Court of India (Junior Panel Counsel)
- Bachelor’s degree in Law conferred by a University
- recognized by the Bar Council of India and should be enrolled as an advocate under the provisions of The Advocates Act, 1961.
- Specialization in environment related subject, e.g., Degree/ Diploma/ Certificate.
High Courts / NGT / CAT (Senior Panel Counsel)
- Bachelor’s degree in Law conferred by a University recognized by the Bar Council of India and should be enrolled as an advocate under the provisions of The Advocates Act, 1961.
- Specialization in environment related subject, e.g., Degree/ Diploma/ Certificate.
High Courts / NGT / CAT (Junior Panel Counsel)
- Bachelor’s degree in Law conferred by a University recognized by the Bar Council of India and should be enrolled as an advocate under the provisions of The Advocates Act, 1961.
- Specialization in environment related subject, e.g., Degree/ Diploma/ Certificate.
Other Conditions
- The Panel Counsels who are currently empanelled with the Commission shall not require to apply for this Empanelment.
- The initial empanelment shall remain valid for a period of three (3) years or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
- The Commission reserves the absolute right to terminate the empanelment of any advocate at any time, without assigning any reason.
- Professional fees shall be payable in accordance with the terms and conditions prescribed by the Commission from time to time.
- Fulfilment of the prescribed criteria for empanelment shall not confer any right to appointment.
- The Commission shall not entertain any correspondence regarding the process and outcome of empanelment.
- Empanelment of an advocate shall not entitle them to the assignment of cases or court matters. The allocation of cases shall be entirely at the discretion of the Commission and no claim shall be admissible from empanelled advocates in this regard.
Deadline
The last date of receiving Application in the prescribed format (annexed with this Notice) along with supporting documents is fixed on 05/03/2026 till 06.00 pm.
Application Procedure
The eligible practicing Advocates may send their application in the prescribed format (annexed) along with all the supporting documents (scanned) through email to “[email protected] and/or [email protected]”. No hard-copy of the Application shall be entertained.
