Cross-Institutional Team Wins South Asia Rounds of FDI International Arbitration Moot 2026

Noida, August 4, 2026: A cross-institutional team comprising students from Jindal Global Law School, the National Law School of India University and Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University emerged as the winner of the South Asia Rounds of the Foreign Direct Investment International Arbitration Moot, 2026.

The regional rounds were hosted by Lloyd Law College, Noida, from July 30 to August 2, 2026. The competition witnessed participation from 38 teams representing institutions across India, Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka.

The winning team comprised:

• Abhinandan Adhikari
• Rishank Mehrotra
• Shalini Kottapalli
• Shravya Nargotra
• Vinayak Kedia

In the final round, the team competed against Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur, before an eminent arbitral tribunal comprising Hon’ble Justice Tejas Karia, Mr Umasankar Yedla, Mr Sameer Jain, Mr Kapil Arora and Ms Iram Majid.

The tribunal tested the participants through incisive questions and practical insights into international investment arbitration, making the final round an enriching and valuable experience for the students.

The South Asia Rounds served as the qualifying stage for the FDI Moot Global Rounds, which are scheduled to be held at the Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration in Shenzhen, China. The top 10 teams from the regional rounds qualified to participate in the global competition.

The team’s victory reflects the strength of cross-institutional collaboration and its members’ preparation, advocacy skills and understanding of international investment law and arbitration.
