About the Job

Accenture is hiring a Regional Legal Counsel to provide legal, contractual, and commercial support for Avanade’s business in India. The role involves leading, structuring, drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a broad range of commercial and technology-related agreements while advising business leadership on legal and commercial risks. The selected candidate will work closely with business, sales, and legal teams to support strategic transactions and ensure effective risk management and compliance.

Eligibility

Candidates should possess:

• An LL.B., J.D., or an equivalent law degree.
• A minimum of 8 years of transactional experience in digital, consulting, systems integration, and/or outsourcing matters.
• At least 2 years of experience in a law firm.
• Experience in a fast-paced in-house legal role within a relevant multinational organisation.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience negotiating intellectual property and data privacy matters.

Skills Required

Candidates should demonstrate:

• Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
• Experience drafting and negotiating technology-related agreements.
• Understanding of intellectual property, data privacy, and contractual risk management.
• Knowledge of finance, accounting, marketing, and management principles.
• Strong executive presence and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to independently manage a high volume of complex transactions.

Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

• Structuring, drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and closing commercial and technology-related agreements.
• Advising business leaders on legal, contractual, and commercial risks.
• Negotiating agreements including master services agreements, outsourcing agreements, statements of work, service level agreements, licensing agreements, SaaS agreements, data transfer agreements, requests for proposals, and agreements involving cloud, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, systems integration, and agile development.
• Supporting senior contracting lawyers on complex transactions and deal structures.
• Developing legal strategies to support business growth and client engagements.
• Collaborating with business management, business development teams, contract coordinators, and other internal stakeholders.
• Advising executives on legal, compliance, and risk management issues.
• Monitoring industry developments and incorporating relevant legal and commercial practices into transactions.
• Developing subject matter expertise and contributing to internal legal guidance, toolkits, and knowledge resources.
• Supporting and implementing Accenture Legal initiatives.
